Graduate Guide

1. General Information

The 12th Convocation 2025 of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. sharp at PAF Museum, Karachi. The rehearsal will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the same venue. Attendance in rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating students.

2. Instructions for Registration & Degree Recipients

  1. Graduates and guests must bring original CNIC and official invitation cards. Entry is subject to verification.
  2. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Clearance from Finance and Examination Departments is required before registration approval.
  3. Venue for both rehearsal and convocation: PAF Museum, Karachi.
  4. The degree fee is separate from the convocation registration fee.
  5. Graduates must attend the full-dress rehearsal. Non-attendance will result in disqualification.
  6. Smoking, chewing gum, pan, gutka, and main puri are strictly prohibited inside the venue.
  7. Sports goods, banners, and props are not permitted.
  8. Graduates should follow ushers’ instructions for seating and procession formation.
  9. Punctuality is mandatory. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join once the ceremony commences.
  10. Only graduates wearing the prescribed academic costume will be permitted to participate.

  12. Convocation Fee: Rs. 20,000 – includes graduate + two immediate family members. Children under 15 years are not allowed.
  13. Additional Guest: Rs. 10,000 per person (subject to availability).
  14. Academic Costume Fee: Rs. 3,200 (Rent: Rs. 700, Refundable Deposit: Rs. 2,500).
  15. Costume Return Period: After the ceremony within dates announced by the Convocation Committee.
  16. Invitation Cards and costumes will be issued once only.
  17. All updates will be shared via official email and invitation cards.

4. Dress Code and Conduct

Graduates must wear formal attire under the gown (shirt & tie for men; formal eastern wear for women). Maintain decorum throughout the ceremony. Mobile phones must remain silent. Respect the solemnity of the event.

5. Academic Costume (Gown & Cap)

Academic gowns and caps will be available on rent from the authorized supplier at the Convocation Office (Block C) on the day of rehearsal.

Costumes must be returned within the notified period after the ceremony.

6. Guest Pass & Security

Only registered graduates and verified guests will be allowed entry. CNIC and invitation cards are mandatory. Security checks will be strict — arrive at least one hour early.

7. Photography & Media

Authorized photographers will capture official photos. Personal photography is allowed in designated areas after the ceremony. Information regarding photo collection will be shared later.
